How you can make a difference for generations to come.
Many of our followers and guests already know about our beehives. We installed them last season and work with a team of professional beekeepers to sustain them. By providing a safe environment for honey bees we are helping to preserve our local environment and the delicate bee population. Having these on our grounds has made for an educational and entertaining feature for family members of all ages. These beehives have given our family-run business the opportunity to give away 160 jars of organic honey to our friends, neighbours, and the families we serve.
We currently have two beehives and are working to expand this number as the years go by. We are pleased to announce that we can now offer an opportunity to be a part of this expansion. Individuals and families can now sponsor a partial or full beehive as part of their own legacy or in memory of a loved one. Similar to leaving a donation in your name, you will be able to sponsor the building of a new beehive and the ongoing care and maintenance that it requires. This is a great way to leave the world a better place for generations to come. For sponsorship information please contact us.
Hives are installed in the spring, typically April. After the honey harvest in early autumn, the hives are removed from the fields and brought to shelter for the winter. We are collaborating with Honest Farm Co. Their team of professional beekeepers harvest the honey slowly and without heat. This ensures the highest possible nutritional value. You can choose to sponsor either a portion of a hive or a full beehive for yourself or your loved one. Your contribution includes all care and maintenance of the colony, and in return, you will receive some of the honey!
Update, Spring 2021- Our hives will be back on site in early April, and we’re adding four new hives too. Only two are still available for memorialization, call today to secure your sponsorship!
Our aim is to promote sustainable ways to memorialize loved ones. At this time, this includes our memorial trees, memorial plants, green burial, and the beehives. We have big plans to further expand our landscaping and in the near future, we will be able to offer options such as garden spaces, natural green spaces, and memory walls. This will give generations of families the ability to visit their loved ones in an honoured and special place while preserving our environment. We are not a food company, but honey production is a natural benefit of keeping bees. All harvesting is done by a professional apiary, and we want to share the fruits of the hives with those families that make them possible. As such, honey is not for sale, it is shared among the sponsors and any surplus will be shared with the families who come to visit.
If you would like to see our beehives feel free to come to visit our grounds from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday or 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday or set up a tour by contacting us here. We would love to show you around!
